A Security guard will require their torch to have a high to very high output. All of the models in this section are capable of emitting a piercing beam of over 100 lumens. If the building or area of land on which security services are necessary is large, or has large open spaces, one of the higher end models such as the M6 Guardian or 10X Dominator will be a great time saving device as they will enable the Security Guard to survey large spaces from a stationary standpoint with their impressive 500 lumen beams. The large 2.5" reflector on these models helping to throw the beam a great distance into the darkness.
In addition to having a powerful beam, a rechargeable device will also be advantageous as the torch is likely to be heavily used and as the device is kept at a fixed location, usually with an available electricity supply, this will work out the most cost effective option in the long term. A selection of 123A Lithium powered models are also recommended for situations where a Security gaurd may spend long periods in the field and not have access to an on-going electricity supply. The preferred choice of battery type will be determined by the type of facility or land area for which security is being provided.
